Civil engineering - Bridge of San Marcos in Mexico

San Marcos bridge is the longest and highest bridge in Nuevo Necaxa Tihuatlán highway, which connects  Mexico City and the Gulf of Mexico.

 

One of the key points of the highway lies in the core of Nuevo Necaxa - Ávila Camacho, consisting of 37 km running through the mountains of San Marcos.

 

San Marcos bridge passes 220 m over the river, is of pre-stressed concrete structure and have the second highest support piers, after the Millau Viaduct in France.
